Movie Review: Me Before You

They could say this was just another cheesy love movie. But after watching this movie and as ranted to my friend about how great the movie the more things I learned unfolded. Walking away from that movie I am left with a lot of things I will use. This movie teaches you how to really love someone.

SUMMARY
The movie starts with a very successful man who seems to have a perfect life and girlfriend and wakes up one day and in a flash it's all gone. He gets in an accident and is now paralyzed and life as his knew was never the same. Meanwhile not to far away lives a young girl who is happy with her life although not your ideal picture perfect life but she was content and happy with what she had in front of her and just accept that as her life.

SETTINGS
26-year-old Louisa Clark (Emilia Clarke) is a happy, outgoing woman who lives with and supports her working-class family. After losing her job at a local cafe, she is hired as the caregiver of Will Traynor (Sam Claflin), a former successful banker and once active young man who became paralyzed after being involved in a motorcycle accident two years prior. Louisa has no experience but Will's mother believes her cheery personality will help lift his spirits. Will only spends time with Nathan, his male nurse, who assists with his care, exercise and movement and knows that he will never regain use of his body due to the damage to his spinal cord.

Here is my thoughts and how I analyzed it:

1. LOVE IS A VERB
I always believed that when you say you love someone it's like saying what you do.... not how you feel but more the action. In the movie, they show you why the feeling or even just saying it to each other doesn't really count. But the real love is in the action. They didn't need to tell each other I love you to justify their love they loved each other and they both knew it.

There was a scene in the movie where she has been caring for this man as caregiver for a couple of weeks and she never gives up. Her goal and only thing on her mind was to make him happy. She did research to find activities he liked. She would go home chat with her sister so troubled about ways to make it work.

In relationships we tend to make things difficult. And forget the purpose, if in any relationship you were in you worked hard to only do one thing to make that person happy. You relationship will improve.

Although he was handicapped he still had to a lot to offer. He showed his love by making her see the world a bigger place. Helping her not just settle but to think out the box. He also worked to make her happy.

Through the movie you watch as both of them change each other and help each other. This to me is true love. A love that makes you better, a love that is thoughtful. A love that works to make the next person happy. Most of all to be there when things are at lowest not only when it's all good.

2. WORK PASSIONATELY

Another lesson I took away from this movie was if you work hard and keep at it no matter what you will get back ten fold.

No matter what the job she put her all in. She put all her efforts and even when she failed she would come up with a plan. I love that they show when she first started how bad she hated it. Showing without passion and if you don't love your job or the people you work with you will never do well. The money didn't matter, she hated her job and had no enthusiasm to try because of it. When you have a job that you love what you do and you wake up truly happy to go to work. You will do well.

Once she found ways to do her job well. After doing the research and putting up with the hard times she began to like her "job". Because she was passionate and didnt treat her job as a job and finally fell in love with her job she was rewarded at the end. As I say many times throughout my blogs that seem to be a pattern in my life, always do your best work. You never know who you work for, who is watching, and what the outcome can be to any position. You gotta start somewhere, do everything with passion even if it's not what you want to do.

3. ENCOUNTERS
The last lesson I want to share with you guys that really spoke to me. Was who you encounter in life shapes who you are. These two were two different people and lived two complete different lives. As they grew closer and closer they became a whole different person. In this case they turned out good. But this also had me thinking how much someone affects your life even the bad encounters. So be careful who you let into your life.

I loved loved loved this movie. It is not your average chick flick that gets you in your feelings and typical happy ending but there is so much more I took away from this. I definitely would recommend my readers to go see it and let me know what they took out of it. I rate this move a 9/10
