Movie Review: Inside Out

The other day on xFinity on demand I watched the movie, Inside Out. It can out last year in June but I still had to review this movie because of how amazing it was. It had me in tears. This movie may be for children but the story is for all ages. The metaphors used and picture the directors and writers provided really left an impact on me personally. Directed by Pete Docter, Ronnie del Carmen.

We all have feelings and emotions, the writer of this movie goes inside a child's head and shows us a cool point of view. Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley (Kaitlyn Dias) is a happy, hockey-loving 11-year-old Midwestern girl, but her world turns upside-down when she and her parents move to San Francisco. Just like you and I, as we grow we face obstacles in life and changes. They paint the picture showing how we are guided by our emotions. Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness, where they live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley's mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a changes in her life, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school. I don't want to give away to much for those who didn't see the movie. But this movie has taught me how all emotions matters, that it is ok to be sad, angry etc. that in fact sometimes you need to feel sad to feel joy. In that exact order. We all at times think feeling sad is bad. In the movie there's a time Joy and Sadness leave headquarters and to me this was a metaphor when some of us shutdown. Where we are closed off and just live in anger, fear and disgust. Everything falls apart and get worst and worst, every emotions have a different affect and it's like a domino rally. It's OK to be mad but to only have that everything will literally fall apart. But at the end when Sadness came she was able to feel sorrow and then let her feel Joy. We have to feel all these emotions in life and everyone of them matter. So don't get upset you are sad don't be mad your scared. It's OK and you should feel this because it makes you human. I give this movie a 10 out 10. It was outstanding and kudos to writers, directors on this movie because they really out did themselves. I love the one-liner Fear said in a scene from the movie, "We did not die today! I’d call that an unqualified success." We all need to be aware and appreciate the little successes of our day. Be excited that you didn’t die today.  We can be excited about the small things in life. We just have to notice them. Below is the trailer for the movie for those who havent seen it yet. Please go watch it. Pixar did a wonderful job with this one. I wonder if there will be a sequel.
